From vision to reality

The journey of Trail

Uncover the origins of Trail as we trace the inception of this remarkable movement. Sarinda Unamboowe,
inspired by a commitment to peace, envisioned the walk as a symbolic gesture to heal a post-war nation.
Joining him on this path of compassion, Nathan Sivagananathan, driven by personal loss to cancer,
recognized the potential to make a profound impact on the lives of those affected by the disease. Together,
their shared vision ignited the Trail, uniting communities and transforming the landscape of cancer care in
Sri Lanka.

Paving the way

For hope and healing

Trail 2011 marked a momentous beginning, as thousands of passionate individuals walked from Southern
Dondra Head to Northern Point Pedro over 28 days. This extraordinary effort raised USD 2.6 million, giving
